First trimister over!
I have not written on my blog for a long time so this post will be very long. So , lets start at thanksgiving , we had a big party with all are french friends and one Fulbrighter, Margaret, with her son Jed. We had two turkeys and two chickens. Then about 2 weeks later we went to a Fête des Lumières (translation: Festival of Lights) There where about like 50 light shows all around the city there was one that was for packman and it had a packman thing projected up on the wall and some people waited in line and you could play with your hand out in front of you. Then the next day we went to a christmas market and at 6:00 Santa or in french Père Noël, anyway he came down on a zipline and landed on a small roof with an elf and they threw candy out at us. Then the next day I had a dance recital for the dance classes I have been taking. We did our dance our teacher taught us and after we did the dance we had made up our selfs. Then the next week at school on monday all afternoon we made paper snowflakes and hanged them in the hall of our school and on thursday we made treats to eat the next day at our christmas party. So at our christmas Party first the little kids sang there songs and then our class put on little sketches and then we ate the snack. that is what has happened in the long time I have not written, you will get another blog right after christmas vacation

feeling like home
Well, it has almost been 3 months since we got here and we were just getting set with activities and school and friends. Now I think that I am much more confident with my French and if I had to go to school alone I could. Any ways, I still have my dance and my handball on Mondays and Fridays until six. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I now go to an after school program that helps me do my homework and it is until six too. I am very glad my mom comes to pick me up and walks home with me. Last weekend was Veteran's day in France so we got Friday off from school. My mom and I went to a funny show at the theater in Crest and had a girl's night because Nathan slept over at a friend's house. The next day my mom, my mom's friend Fatima, and I went on a walk. When we went to pick up Nathan from her house she lent us all the Harry Potter movies 1-6. The next day, we watched some Harry Potter. The next day we went on a hunt for mushrooms on a big mountain. We found lots of mushrooms. Well, that's what's happening in France right now! Au revoir!

vacation!!
Well, It has been a very long time since I wrote my last post so I have a lot to write. Last week we had a vacation and we went to London! It was my brothers birthday trip. my grandparents rented a apartment for a week, and my aunt came too. My favorite thing we did was probably the victoria and albert museum. It had lots of activities for kids. It had this one big room and inside the room was a giant platform that kids could run on. Then my second favorite thing was that one morning my aunt took me and my brother to kings cross station where we went to a special thing for platform 9 and 3/4 from Harry Potter. My third favorite thing was the tower of london. It was the home of william the conqueror. He was the first king of england. He built the tower of London to protect him so know one could hurt him. In our apartment, me, my brother and my aunt shared a room. The apartment was right next to a bus stop so we took the bus a lot. When we came we took the train and when we came back to France we did the same. When we came home we went to a very nice halloween party and my costume was the queen of hearts. My brother was voldemort, he was very scary. My aunt got our costumes in the us and gave them to us in London. I had a very fun vacation and a very nice halloween. au revoir

J'ai gagné A.K.A. I won
Well, today at lunch I played a game called "mime." It's a bit like charades but nobody guesses. I found out what we were doing and so everybody started to play. What you do is you have some music and a row of mats that are in the shape of a runway. Then one person would start. When you start, you wait at the end of the runway until the music starts. Then, you do whatever you want down the runway. For example, the first time I just walked down the runway and at the end I hit a big pose. Next, you stand and wait for the person in charge to say something that you need to act out. So, the next he asked me to act out three things. When I was finished, he turned on the music again, and I walked back up the runway. Then, the rest of the people did it and then we all stood at they end of the runway and the man in charge started to say the names of people who didn't do well enough and were not going to win. At last he had said everyone's name except me and a boy. So then my friend came and told me what to do so me and the boy both did it one more time and then stood there waiting to find out who had won. Then, he said the boy's name and everybody started clapping because I had won!

Well, we have finished the first month week of school! I am doing better on cursive and am learning more French everyday. Today my mom and I went over to my mom's mentor, Cyril's house, and I played with his daughters and we had lunch with them. There house is very comfortable. They told us about a craft store right around the corner from where we live and on Saturday mornings they have workshops for kids. This weekend my mom is going to Paris so Nate and I are going to stay with our friends Thierry and Pascale, so we don't miss any school or activities . It is the end of September so we have been here almost two months. My dad just left again this Thursday. I have to go now so as people say here, Bisous

School
Well, I've finally started school and have met some wonderful friends. I eat at a place called the cantine (kahn-teen) It's not at my school (which only has ninety-four students), it's at another school and we take a bus there. We have two hours for lunch and then we go back to school. The kids in my grade learn English so I help my teacher a lot. In math we are learning high multiplication. My class is a mixture of fourth and fifth and it only has 22 kids! I am in cm1, the lower grade. I live right down the street from my school so I walk to school every day. Well, I have to go to pick up my brother from soccer practice so au revoir.

getting ready
Hello, we're just waiting for our visas to come so we can leave for france! My suitcase is packed and so is my brother's. I still know limited French. I really like French food so I'm really looking forward to eating escargot. We're living in a small town called Crest (pronounced Cray). It's two hours from Italy so I think we we'll be doing lots of sightseeing. Heres some information about Crest.
